NEISA Conference, Kigali, Rwanda
Last week, three members of our team had the honour of attending the Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit for Africa (hashtag#NEISA2025). The conference took place on June 30th and July 1st in Kigali. This powerful gathering brought together leaders from across the continent and beyond to explore nuclear energy innovation as a critical part of Africa’s energy transition.
Representing Cambridge AtomWorks were:
Prof. Ian Farnan, Chief Executive Officer:
Ian Farman participated in a fireside chat on “Advancements in Fuel Types, Safety & Waste Management Innovation,” offering deep expertise on sustainable fuel cycles and nuclear material management in the African context.
Prof. Eugene Shwageraus, Chief Technical Officer:
Eugene Shwageraus contributed to the session on “SMR Spotlight: Innovations Powering the Future”, sharing technical insights on the potential of Small Modular Reactors to deliver low-carbon, flexible, and scalable energy tailored to Africa’s needs.
